Dabur in crisis:-
Three subsidiaries of Dabur International Ltd have been bogged in legal case in US and Canada over products that have allegedly caused ovarian and uterine cancer. The cases have been filed against these Dabur enterprises in US and Canadian civil courts, professing that the hair- relaxer and hair- straightener products caused cancer.
Dabur sells these products untoward under colourful brand names. Over 5,400 cases have been filed in courts professing those Dabur attachment enterprises, Namaste Laboratories, Dermoviva Skin rudiments and Dabur International- dealing hair products are causing cancer.
Before this week, Dabur India entered GST demand notice of Rs 320.6 crore including interest and penalty, failing the payment will mean Show Beget Notice for the company.
The Company has entered suggestion of duty caught on as being outstanding under Section 74(5) of CGST Act, 2017, wherein GST suddenly paid not paid amounting to Rs.320.6 crores has been advised to be paid by the Company along with the quantum of applicable interest and penalty under Section 74(5) of COST Act, 2017, failing which Show Beget Notice will be issued, “The company said in a nonsupervisory form”.
Dabur told in the BSE exchange form that there’s no impact on fiscal, operation or other conditioning of the Company due to this suggestion of duty being outstanding. The Company will challenge the same grounded on strong graces by way of filing its reply/ cessions, before the applicable authorities.
