Update: 2nd Semi Final: ICC World Cup 2023

South Africa have won the toss and elected to Bat. South African batsmen could not settle and lost the 1st wicket on just 1, 2nd on 8, 3rd on 22 and after 11.5 overs, they were 24/4. 95 runs partnership came for the 5th wicket between Klassen and David Millar. But after that except Miller, no any batsman could put some runs on the score board. Miller’s brilliant century came in very difficult time and he has made 101 runs off 116 balls. South Africa’s whole team were back in pavilion after 49.4 overs for just 212 runs. It seems that South Africa remain short at least 50 runs to give Australia a fight for this knock out battle.

Australia Chasing 213 in the 2nd Semi Final of ICC World Cup 2023

Travis Head and David Warner started inning with a bang and they could add 60 runs in just 6 overs for the 1st wicket partnership, before David Warner was out on 29 on the 1st ball of the 7th over of Markram at the total of 61 Rabada, in the next over sent Mitchel Marsh back to pavilion on DUCK and at the same team total.

After adding 45 runs for the 3rd wicket, Travis Head was out on 62 (scored on 48 balls with 9 boundaries and 2 Sixes).

South African bowlers were trying hard to restrict Australian batting and they were succeeded to in putting break on run rate but they have a very low total to defend. Next wickets were down on 106,133, 137, 174 runs respectively and 7th wicket of Josh Inglish, the last regular batsman was out on 28 in 40th over when Australia were 193/7. But it was too late for South Africa. 

It appears that India will meet Australia in the Final of ICC World Cup 2023 championship on the coming Sunday 19th November 2023 at Ahmedabad.
