Gadar 2 : A patriotic Masala Movie just before Indian Independence Day
Gadar 2 is the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. It is directed by Anil Sharma, who also directed the first film.
Gadar 2 picks up where the first film left off, with Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakina (Ameesha Patel) living happily in India after Tara rescued Sakina from Pakistan. However, their happiness is short-lived when Iqbal Khan (Atul Kulkarni), a Pakistani army officer who is still obsessed with Sakina, kidnaps her and their son. Tara must once again go to Pakistan to rescue his family.
Gadar 2 is a masala film with all the elements that audiences have come to expect from the genre: action, romance, comedy, and drama. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, and it does a good job of depicting the patriotism and nationalism that was prevalent during that time.
