India vs Bangladesh: A bright sunny day in the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune with a bit hot and humid weather at 32 degrees Celsius. Though the outfield seems a bit slower due to a slight shower yesterday evening.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. This was a good toss to lose for Rohit Sharma as the think tank had decided to field first in case of a favourable toss.
A good start for Bangladesh. The Bangladesh openers gave a good start and a 1st wicket partnership of 93 in 14.4 overs.
Tanzid Hasan was first to go to the pavilion after completing his half of 51 in just 43 balls with 5 fours and 3 beautiful sixes.
The bad news for India: Hardik Pandya got injured while bowling his first over. He could bowl only 3 balls in his first over. The remaining 3 balls were bowled but none other but the King Kohali.
In his 6th over, Mohammad Siraj took the wicket of Mehidy Hasana Miraj. The catch behind the wicket was almost a blinder for the wicket keeper, but the catch was beautifully taken by the wicket of K L Rahul. It was an extremely brilliant catch. Miraj had scored only 3 runs and Bangladesh were 129/3 after 24.1 overs.
Linton Das after making a brilliant 66 runs off 82 balls with 7 boundaries. Lintos Das went for a big hit to Jadeja but the ball went in the air and Shubhman Gill took the catch at long off to end his innings. Bangladesh were 137/4 after 27.4 overs.
In the 38th over of Bangladesh innings and his 8th over Shardul Thakur, wicket of Towhid Hridoy on 16 (35 balls). He was trying to hit a good length of Shardul but couldn’t time well and a simple catch went to Shubhman Gill and he accepts it with thanks. Bangladesh on 179/5 after 37.2 overs
Mohammad Siraj was the bowler and 47th over of Sri Lanka inning, Naseem Ahmad punished Siraj for 2 boundaries but the happiness of Naseem couldn’t last longer and on the 5th ball of the over, he tried to sweep the ball and edged the ball. K L Rahul was attentive behind the stumps and caught the ball comfortably. Bangladesh 233/7 after 46.5 overs.
Last over of the innings.. Boom Boom Bumrah… what a beautiful Yorker, just pin pointed to middle stumps and the only possible result on this ball, Mahmudullah was out. CLEAN BOWLED, just 4 short of his half century. Mahmudullah has scored 46 off 36 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and 3 beautiful sixes. Bangladesh was 248/8 after 49.2 overs.
On the last ball of innings, Shoriful Islam hits a beautiful SIX off Bumrah and Bangladesh closed their innings at 256/8. Bumrah, Shiraj and Jadeja has claimed 2 wickets each. On the other hand Shiraj and Kuldeep has bagged one wicket each.
Now, India needs 257 to win this match.
Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma started inning with Shubhman Gill. First fifty for India came after 9 overs. Rohit Sharma at 37 off 33 balls & Shubhman Gill at 13 off 21 balls.
In the 12th over, Shubhman gill has sent the ball thrice through the boundaries on Mustafizur.
In 13th over, Rohit Sharma sent a ball of Hasan Mahmud to SIX over midwicket. On the very next ball Rohit Sharma again tried to hit the ball for a six but could not clear the fence over backward midwicket and caught by Towhid Hridoy. Rohit Sharma after a good start out for 48 off 40 balls and India after 12.4 overs 88/1.
In 20th over, bowler was Mehidy Hasan Miraj, Shubhman Gill flicks the ball to send over the fence for SIX, but Mahmudullah who was fielding at deep mid-wicket did no mistake and took a very comfortable catch just few inches before the boundary rope. Shubhman Gill has scored 53 runs off 55 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and 2 magnificent SIXES. India were 132/2 after19.2 overs.
For the 3rd wicket partnership, Virat Kohali and Shreyas Iyer has added 46 runs in 9.5 overs. Virat Kohali has completed his half century on 48 balls. In 30th over again bowler was Mehidy Hasan Miraj and in the same fashion as Shubhman Gill was dismissed near boundary, Iyer was also caught by Mahmudullah at the same place. Shreyas Iyer has scored 19 runs off 25 balls and India was 178/3 after 29.1 overs. Still needs 115 runs to win the match. K L Rahul came to crease to replace Iyer.
Fifty runs partnership between K L Rahul and Virat Kohali came in 8.4overs.
After 40 overs, India were 249/3 ; K L Rahul was batting on 34 & Virat Kohali on 92.
Kohali needs 8 for his century & India need 8 to win.
India has won this match by 7 wickets in 41.3 overs and Virat Kohali completed his 48th century in ODI. K L Rahul 34 not out & Virat Kohali 103 not out.
India after 4 matches, on 2nd position in the table with 8 points & +1.6 NRR

In today’s match ind vs bangladesh the role of k l rahul was commendable.
To facilitate the Virat for completing his century Rahul has not played a single ball and scored a run.
When Virat reqd 26 run to complete hundred Rahul was at 34 runs in 34 balls . At the end of the match the statistics of Rahul remained unchanged.
Absolutely correct, Umpire was also helpful by not giving Wide signals.
