Due to illness, I was unable to post articles in last 3 days. Last 3 days were very happening for the ICC World Cup 2023. As all of you will be aware that in today’s match between South Africa and New Zealand, South Africa has won the match very convincingly by 190 runs and this is also important that New Zealand have lost to South Africa in World Cup, 1st time after 1999 i.e. after 24 years.
This match was played at Pune. New Zealand has won the toss and elected to field. Batting first South Africa has scored 357/4 in 50 overs with brilliant centuries of Quinton De Cock and van Der Dussen. In reply New Zealand was all out in 35.3 overs and could score only 167 runs.
In Match No. 31: Pakistan has convincingly defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, yesterday on 31st October 2023. Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat and could score just 204 runs and even couldn’t play their full quota of 50 overs, they were all out in 45.1 over. In reply Pakistan has achieved the target in 32.3 overs. Important half centuries were scored by Shafique (68) & Fakhar Zaman (81).
Another major setback was by Afghanistan team, who has defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets at Pune in match number 30 played on 30th October 2023. This is very important that Afghanistan team has defeated 3 previous World Cup winners in this World Cup, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England. This team has shown highest level of spirit and commitment.
Next matches will be very crucial.
At present South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand are on top position with 12,12,8,8 points respectively.
Tomorrow India will meet Sri Lanka in the match no.33 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Please watch match Live on Disney Hotstar on 02nd November 2023 at 14.00 IST.
